Sir Mark Rowley, QPM

Sir Mark has been the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police since September 2022. He was knighted by HM the Queen in the 2018 Birthday Honours list for his “exceptional contribution to national security at a time of unprecedented threat and personally providing reassuring national leadership through the attacks of 2017.” Outdoors has always been his mental recharge such as through running many times a week and walking holidays. Indeed, taking a couple of months between careers trekking to Everest base camp and doing yoga in the foothills around Kathmandu was one of the best experiences of his life. Sir Mark became Chair of Trustees for Dose of Nature in January 2021. His interest in mental health and well-being arises from recognising how much police work is the tragic result of the failure of state provided health and care support to someone facing serious mental health challenges leading to a sadly preventable crisis requiring police involvement.

Meena Bond

Meena has recently completed eight years serving as a local councillor for the South-West London ward of Kew. Her tenure included a year as Mayor of Richmond and three years as Cabinet Member for Art, Culture and Sport. In her final year in office, Meena was Champion for Mental Health, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding the provision of mental health services. With a degree in Business and Communications, and experience running a successful consultancy company, her expertise and skills in energising and connecting people are an invaluable addition to the Dose of Nature team. As an enthusiastic advocate of environmental issues, she is also a trustee for the Menorca Preservation Fund, an organisation dedicated to protecting and preserving Menorca’s environment. Meena is a keen gardener and loves to paint birds, flowers and butterflies.

Through her various roles, Kerry has gained a wide range of experience of working with people with mental health issues. Kerry gets her own daily ‘dose of nature' walking her dog along the towpath and in Richmond Park and finds being by water particularly therapeutic, escaping to the coast whenever possible.
