Counselling and Psychology Placements
Each year we accept approximately 2-3 counselling placement students at both our Kew and Guildford hubs at the start of each academic year (October onwards), and 2 – 4 Trainee Counselling and Clinical Psychologists throughout the academic year, depending on course and placement needs. At our hub in Kew, we offer specialist placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists seeking experience with young people aged 16 – 25.
Throughout your placement, you will gain experience supporting people to connect with the natural world to improve wellbeing, reduce anxiety, manage emotions and build resilience. Our therapeutic approach is integrative, and combines elements of nature therapy as well as more traditional therapies including person centred, CBT, CFT, ACT and psychodynamic therapies. Most of our work is conducted outdoors in nature.
Kew and Guildford placement applications for counselling students are now closed for the 2026 / 2027 academic year. Applications will re-open between 1st May 2027 and 15th June 2027. If successful, you will need to be able to join our Nature Guide training in September 2027.
Placement applications for counselling and clinical psychology doctoral at our Guildford site are now closed.
Placement applications for counselling and clinical psychology doctoral students at our Kew site remain open.
If you're interested, complete the Placement Application form and email it to the relevant hub (Kew: info@doseofnature.org.uk or Guildford: guildford@doseofnature.org.uk) along with a copy of your CV. The team will review all applications and arrange interviews in a timely manner.
