Workshops

Workshops

There are two main components to our workshops:

1)  An informative component, including:
  • understanding the scientific evidence supporting the mental health benefits of spending time in nature
  • learning about the latest research as to why nature is so beneficial
  • gaining knowledge about what’s happening in other countries around the world in this field
  • understanding the theory behind ways of enhancing the benefits of time spent in nature
2)  An experiential component, including:
  • mindful activities, increasing the restorative impact of nature
  • sensory exercises, enhancing the benefits of nature by using nine different senses
  • meditative walking, encouraging a deeper connection to nature
Our workshops can take place wherever there is a green space with some natural elements: ancient woodlands and forests make excellent locations for a complete nature immersion experience (often suitable for an employee away day or a teacher inset day), but local parks and gardens in more urban settings are also appropriate, as is any natural space convenient to a particular group, such as a school field, hospital grounds, care home garden or prison outdoor facility.

Workshops for Specific Groups

Alongside our professional training workshops, we offer experiential sessions to specific clinical groups, including
people suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

We also provide group sessions to non-clinical groups, including primary and secondary age school pupils, students, pregnant women, new parents, older adults, refugees, company employees.
