Workshops held at Richmond EAL Friendship Group

In June, Dr Alison Greenwood ran two workshops with EAL friendship group at Ham public library, with people from Afghanistan, Hungary, Turkey, Romania and Hong Kong. Students learnt about mental health benefits of increased engagement with nature, enjoyed looking at nature’s fractals and sniffing phytoncides, understanding more about why nature is so beneficial to mental wellbeing. Those attending talked movingly about vivid memories of experiences in nature in their own countries before coming to the UK.
