Dose of Nature Staff
I completed my undergraduate degree in BSc Psychology last year and my enthusiasm for sustainability and climate change led me to apply for an MSc in Environmental Strategy at the University of Surrey. I started the Masters with the intention to learn about sustainability but I have also learnt about our connection with nature and now I can’t stop. So much so that I will be studying the acceptability of nature prescriptions for my Masters dissertation. I was so fortunate to meet Alison and I am excited to be involved with Dose of Nature where I can perfectly combine my psychological and environmental knowledge and experience. I love spending time in nature and it has been crucial in my own mental health journey - I get my dose of nature by spending time barefoot in my garden, regularly visiting a local country park and doing the 5k parkrun each Saturday. There is nothing like some nature to start the weekend!
Dose of Nature Members and Volunteers
We have over 30 members and volunteers at Dose of Nature who are all crucial to the running of the charity.
Beth Greenwood
I am a masters student studying the History and Philosophy of Science at Cambridge University, with a particular research interest in climate science and environmental ethics. I have spent four years volunteering for Raising and Giving Cambridge, fundraising for three different mental health charities. I am currently leading a project to help bring Car-Free Days to Cambridge. I am coordinating communications for Dose of Nature.
I occassionally take a break from my computer to look at the garden. I'm told this will help my stress levels.

Amelia Kidd
I am a medical doctor and have worked in the field of sexual and reproductive health for 20 years in Lambeth. It has been both enjoyable and challenging!
More recently I became interested in mindfulness and completed an eight week MBSR course. Having seen the benefits for myself and seen how difficult things were for my three teenage children I trained with the ‘mindfulness in schools’ project and have begun to teach mindfulness in a local primary school. I am going to begin teaching at Great Ormond Street Hospital in the Spring. I am half way through a training course to teach adults with an organisation called Breathworks.
I have a share in an allotment and a dog and I particularly like meditating outside.
I am very excited to be involved in Dose of Nature.

Sally Norris
Sally has a professional background in learning and organisation development – working with individuals and teams to support them to make changes and improve outcomes in areas of communication; relationship-building; personal effectiveness and resilience. Sally is a trustee of The Forgiveness Project –www.theforgivenessproject.com – and is a certified Compassionate Listening facilitator and trainer. Compassionate Listening involves non-judgemental listening and deepening, non-confrontational questions – so the speaker can hear their own truth – sometimes for the first time. She loves to spend time in the natural world – and knows from personal experience that this can help people to connect more effectively to themselves, each other and the wider world.

Simon Cox
I have worked for 30 years in IT, many spent as a Project and Programme Manager. In more recent years I have joined the Magistracy, sitting as a Magistrate in South West London. As both these roles are sedentary and indoors I have become increasingly aware of how much getting out and about in any green space benefits my wellbeing. As such I am very pleased to be able to offer support to this good cause.
